On Friday, June 11th the Creekside team hosted its 4th Annual Barbeque Fundraiser. Jason Miller with Texan EMS in Huntsville spent hours cooking briskets and making his “world-famous” BBQ sauce. Other individuals and groups donated cookies, chips, water and other items needed to make the fundraiser a success. A great group of volunteers joined many from the Creekside team to bag pickles and onions, stuff bags with condiments and chips, put BBQ sauce in serving containers, ice down water and help make, deliver and serve well over 300 chopped beef sandwiches.
The event brought in over $4,000 in donations and in-kind gifts to benefit the Creekside Resident Covenant Fund which provides assistance to residents who are not able to fully pay for the services and care they receive at the community.
Creekside Philanthropy Director, Nichole Becker, summarized the experience by saying, “This event was only possible because of the help from our many amazing volunteers who donated their time, funds and in-kind gift items for the good of the residents at Creekside. The support from the Huntsville community was phenomenal. We are blessed to be a part of such a loving and generous community who appreciate a great BBQ sandwich!”
